Rays Place on Lookout Mountain

This cozy gem was exactly what we needed for a relaxing weekend away. With plenty of delicious food, shopping and attractions nearby. Ray's photography is tastefully displayed throughout this beautiful home. The large windows provide a clear view of the many birds that come to feed on the deck. The birds are very entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed them. The deck is beautiful and roomy. Everything we needed and more was provided. The property was tidy and clean and felt safe. This location feels spiritual, calming and heavenly. You can't go wrong with this home. We cannot wait to come back. Thank you Ray, Sage and your team.

I thought this was a great mountain retreat for my wife and I. The location was beautiful and was close to Chattanooga for a lot of fun things to do. The hosts are very nice and responsive.

Beautiful place with amazing views. Lots to do around the area. Even great to just sit on the back porch by the fire pit. Marty was also a great co-host and even came to fix an issue we had within 20 minutes! Definitely recommend and will be booking again when we come back out this way!

If you are looking to visit Lookout Mountain/Chatanooga area, you could not ask for a better location. Ray’s home was peaceful, had beautiful views, a stone’s throw from a convenience store, and less than a 20min drive to all the surrounding attractions. Ray was also extremely prompt in responding to any questions I had. The beds were comfortable, and the 2 story floor plan was perfect for sharing the home with my children and my parents. I cannot wait to make a return visit!

This was our second day at Ray’s place, and as good as the first day was the second one was better. Sage reached out to us the day before Thanksgiving to make sure that we had all the pots pans and utensils we needed for our Thanksgiving dinner And offered to bring what we needed.! Ray’s place is very comfortable with a very beautiful view and we’d love to stay again!!! Highly recommended as long as you don’t rent it the next time that we want it! Lol. In all seriousness, if you’re seeing this special location, you better snap it up before someone else does.

I can’t say enough about the view. And the townhome was cozy. Two queen beds, the one upstairs was soft and the downstairs was firm. So, even without a king, we slept great. The ice machine didn’t work, but we didn’t complain as it didn’t bother us much. It had all you need really, and again…that view was fantastic!

This was the perfect location for a quick trip with my sister-in-law and our kids. It’s a quick drive to many things to do and see and super close to great restaurants in Chattanooga. We had peaceful sunsets with a beautiful view and quiet evenings! I would stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ray’s Place! It was so beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing! The weather was amazing and we spent most of our time on the back deck enjoying the view and watching the birds. The sunsets were amazing! Everything was exceptionally clean and communication was wonderful! We enjoyed time shopping and trying out several restaurants in the downtown Chattanooga area. My family and I could've sat on the patio and done nothing else and felt like we had the best vacation ever. It was an amazing view, and the chipmunks, hummingbirds, cardinals, etc, were just icing on the cake. We have stayed in quite a few AIRBNB's from FL, PA, NY, WV, etc. This one stood out for sure. The whole place is just lovely and felt like home. Our 24 year old son loved staying in the lower level. I hate to call it a basement, it was too nice for that. :) He loved having a place of his own. It's like an apartment! I have no negatives, whatsoever. I hope we get to go back to the area and stay here again. While we were there, we went to Rock City Gardens, Ruby Falls, and the TN Aquarium. We also rode the Incline Railway. I would probably not ride that thing again..lol It was just so hot! Puckett's restaurant in Chattanooga has a great special from 11 a.m - 3 p.m. and entertainment. We had a wonderful stay at Ray’s place. Ray and his cohosts were very responsive to questions, and the instructions were very clear. The minute we stepped into Ray’s place, we were overwhelmed with the magnificent view of the mountains and valley from the front door and throughout the kitchen and dining/living rooms. The deck off of these areas is unbelievable. It’s like a scenic overlook-220 deg view of the mountains. We also enjoyed birdwatching off the deck as well as warming ourselves with the beautiful deck fire pit. The house was very clean too. We definitely recommend Ray’s place. Seeing is believing!!

I could not take my eyes off of the view at this house. The wildlife was incredible, if you're a bird watcher book this house immediately. You will not be disappointed. Everything was a bit more dated than we saw in the pictures but it was very clean. The view was to die for and worth paying a higher price for a rental BUT the price was too high for that unit as a whole. This is the 5th airbnb we've used and by far the most expensive. We decided that it would be worth the expense based on the photos but thats not what we got.

This was my first time booking an Airbnb and everything went perfectly. The place looks just like the pictures and the view really is amazing. Instructions on how to check in/out were very clear and the place was within driving distance of things like Ruby Falls, Rock City, etc. Would definitely stay here again!

Home Away from Home with a View: This Lookout Mountain charmer felt like a home away from home – only with a million-dollar view. I stayed at Ray’s house for one night. The house is very clean and looks identical to the pictures. The views are amazing and pictures barely do it justice. No kidding, the view itself made this stay more than 5 stars.

Had a Great time with the family. Wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was great right down to the foggy morning over the valley when we woke up. We had such a great time. We will definitely be back!! The kids had a blast looking over the valley and seeing the town below. The communication was so Great!!

Ray’s Place was clean and well-appointed as described. It has a beautiful view. Host is proactive with communication and friendly. Reasonable checkout instructions were appreciated (& no stripping of bed linens required). Very comfortable place which we enjoyed for our short one-evening stay.

There are no words to describe this place and the view. This was the first time the kids and I took a road trip. They had never seen mountains or change of seasons before. Well, we couldn't have picked a more beautiful spot to experience it. The view was incredible. We enjoyed our mornings on the deck bird watching and watching the fog lift off the mountains. One day the weather wasn't that great, so we stayed in and just watched movies and enjoyed the this very cozy home. My family really enjoyed our stay at Rays place! The spectacular view of the mountains, watching the many cardinals at the bird feeder and relaxing by the firepit made for a very relaxing, peaceful weekend. We really appreciated the excellent communication and allowing us to check in earlier to get ready for the wedding! We drove to Mentone to Wildflower Cafe which was wonderful….We will definitely be coming back to Rays place!

Wow! This was a top tier stay. Not only was it beautiful but it felt cozy and comfortable. The fire pit was wonderful. The beds were also so cozy! Ray was very responsive, kind and thoughtful as a host! I would def recommend staying here. It’s wonderful! Also, lots of beautiful cardinals in the morning. ??

Ray and his team went above and beyond, ensuring our stay was a delightful experience. After telling him I did not drink Keurig, he even brought us a brand new coffee maker! He is a very responsive and thoughtful host. We loved our stay at Ray's place. Breathtaking views!

View was incredible! Very close proximity to the beautiful Cloudland Canyon state park. Not a lot of restaurant options nearby, but highly recommend Canopy for coffee and breakfast and Trading Post Smokehouse for bbq! Plus Chattanooga is only a 25 min drive away. Thanks Ray!

Amazing place to stay, fantastic views and a great host! 15min from Rick City and Ruby Falls. Just a hair more to down town Chattanooga. Honestly the best place and location I’ve ever stayed! On top of Lookout Mountain and honestly the drive up and down wasn’t bad at all. Can’t say enough about how good the host was! Will definitely be back!

Majestic, tranquil, and humbling beyond compare- this is Ray’s place. The ability to outside and lounge (above the horizon) is an experience in-and-of itself. Beholding the creator’s work brings a whole new level of ‘decompression’. My experience at Ray’s was serendipitous, and reminded of how important it is to appreciate our blessings; there was even a binder full of helpful information, making our stay that much more drama-free. If you're looking for a place to escape life by bar crawling or night life dalliances, this isn’t the place for you. But if you're looking to sit back and unwind, exhale, and reflect on the beauty of God’s green Earth- you need not look any further. Ray’s place is the kind of experience you’ll want to share with all the special people in your life; truly one-of-a-kind, for this area.

We absolutely loved it at Ray's. They were extremely responsive, kind and welcoming. I did not ask many questions because everything was laid out before we checked in. Very clear instructions, clean home, easy to find and the VIEW! ? Oh the view is breathtaking. We ate, sat and took many pictures and videos on that deck. My husband and I plan on going back again. Definitely a peaceful place to be. We thought where we live is quiet but you experience a different type of peace and quiet at Ray's. Worth the stay!
