Welcome to Firefly at Mentone!

Mentone Mountain Escape is a private tiny home community located atop Lookout Mountain. Flowing nearby is the East Fork of the Little River which leads to the gentle, beautiful Lake Lahusage. This beautiful and serene location provides you and your family the opportunity for a unique vacation with adventure, beautiful sightseeing, privacy, and a space to reconnect in! Mentone is perfect for nature lovers and hikers, our home is located within minutes of all your outdoor adventures and sightseeing! The Mentone tiny home sleeps 7 comfortably and the main floor bedrooms (1 bedroom is a Murphy bed without a closet), and 2 twin beds in the loft with ample space for moving around. Great living room space allowing the whole family to spend time together and play a late-night board game or watch a movie.

Please Note:

The guest count you provide must be accurate as there can be additional guest fees. Notify us if you need to adjust the guest count before arrival. A fine of $25 per night will be applied for each undeclared guest.

Reminder: If a guest misses the checkout time, additional fees will be added. If more than 2 hours past checkout, we will charge for an additional day.

Please bring your own charcoal & fire starter if you would like to use the grill during your stay.

A little difficult to find even with the instructions but that was communicated by Sage but when we found it the cabin was very cute and cozy. We had a few issues but Sage was extremely cooperative and responsive. Unfortunately wasn’t able to use the outdoor propane fireplace and we tried multiple times, but it was still a super enjoyable time. We definitely got our use out of the hot tub just wish there was a more accessible route to the hot tub.

This cabin was gorgeous and very spacious for a group of 5! Two things I did not love about this place: I was not aware that they only provide 2 rolls of toilet paper and 2 trash bags and you are expected to supply your own after that point. For a cabin with 5 beds, I would think more basic necessities would be provided. The host did hesitantly drop off extra toilet paper after we already bought more on our own. Secondly, I asked twice about a late checkout and was told to ask the day before checkout (while we would already be at the cabin) which seems unnecessary since we also have to pay for a late checkout. Otherwise a great stay, hot tub was lovely!

Responds to messages almost instantly. Coming in at dark will make it hard to find the 1st time but we made it ok. Not 100% private area, there is a person in front that waves hi. Place was super clean and had almost everything you would need. We did buy a muffin pan and left it for whoever needs it for the future. Super peaceful and very relaxing. Pictures honestly dont do it justice! Exactly like the pictures. We dont have any complaints at all except 1. the time changes back and forth like crazy.. Even in the Livingroom it will be one time in the house and another on your phone. 2. ThereS no cell service. I work 24/7 and that was a MUST for me. I contacted the owner and she helped me almost immediately and i was back up and good to go getting my work calls. I really do appreciate her help with that! Other than those 2 things, We had an awesome time. My girls had an amazing time walking down the street looking at the fall weather. Thank you so much and we will definitely be BACK

The AC system did not heat so we froze. When we pulled up the trash can was knocked over and trash was strolled through the whole yard. I called the air bnb and they were unable to at least give me a partial refund. We came to hike at desoto park and just wanted to relax afterwards. The only heat we received was from the hot tub, which is sad! Paid over $200 for one night. Definitely wouldn’t recommend going!

This was a stay for fall break. It was absolutely gorgeous, peaceful and private. The hot tub, fireplace and coziness of inside the home was wonderful. Sage was so quick to respond and very helpful. It’s not an if but when we stay again, we look forward to.

Just as described and communication from booking, to check in, to departure was AMAZING. The area was perfect for our intended use .. sightseeing the local parks and waterfalls during the day and relaxation in the evenings. There was plenty of space for my husband and two teenagers. Would definitely stay again.

Very peaceful. Woods all around. Kool lil country store that has grass fed beef, pasture raised eggs right down the road. Very nice neighbors. Plenty of beds.

We had such a wonderful stay! It felt so homey?? The hot tub was clean and already warm with jets going. It was so nice. Love that the hot tub was kind of hidden with privacy! It made it so peaceful. We cooked steaks on the grill, and smores over the fire! The indoor fireplace was so cozy. We also loved sitting around the propane fire on the porch. SO many places to sleep, I was shocked! There was a room down stairs with a nice big bed, but we ended up sleeping in the loft with our son since there were so many bed options. It made us feel like kids again? You definitely get your moneys worth. Such a great price for a place like this. We will definitely be back?

Our families were traveling from Georgia to Wisconsin, and we were looking for a place to rest while we explored Mentone, AL and DeSoto Falls. What a find! We had hoped to use more amenities but with the cold and a couple of other issues we could not, but we left with smiles on our faces. The host communicated well with us. We would love to bring more family back to this Mountain Escape. What a gem. Thanks for sharing this peace of nature and your tiny home with us! We checked out a few of the experiences mentioned in your book as well. If the cabin number marker is still missing, the pics on the site will help you identify the spot clearly and easily from the road.

Great spring break trip! Loved the mini-house and the area around the house. Only small issues were the path to the hot tub wasn’t the best and we could have used some more bowls.
